The ZD Europe GmbH based in Lohr am Main plans to acquire all business shares in the AMK Group, which is headquartered in Kirchheim/Teck. The AMK Group operates in the fields of drive and control technology as well as automation technology and automotive where it is one of the leading technology companies with almost 900 employees worldwide.
The successful operating AMK Group will be managed further as an independent company under the ZD Europe GmbH, based in Lohr am Main. The German management team, the current employee structure as well as the AMK brand remain unchanged. The parent company, ZD Sealing Parts Co., is one of the largest family owned Chinese companies and has its headquarters in Ningguo (province of Anhui). The company’s shares are traded on the stock exchanges in Shanghai and Shenzhen. In 2015, the family-run company has some 14,000 employees on its payroll and posted annual sales revenues of €1.6 billion. Thus, the company is one of the largest international automotive and industrial suppliers.
The AMK Group is continuously growing and has doubled its turnover in the last 5 years. In order to be further on part of the top leaders, this growth process must be pursued. CEO Dr. Ulrich Viethen regards the ZD Group's holding as a major step forward: "We are delighted that we are being taken over by a financially powerful, strategic acting family-run company that will press ahead with the policy of global growth of our most advanced innovations. The takeover signifies long-term strengthening of the AMK Group and the expansion of its competencies, further establishing it as a global systems provider in the automotive sector as well as in the business of drive und control technology." The transaction is then due to come into effect at the end of June 2016 following completion of the standard antitrust approval procedures.
