(pressebox) (Detmold, 03.04.2009) With its new Wave TTA (Transmitter Trip Amplifier), Weidmüller now offers a universal signal conditioner and trip amplifier. It is an extension to the WAVESERIES of analogue signal conditioners already widely deployed in process and industrial automation applications. The Wave TTA is an isolator, conditioner, transmitter, lineariser and trip amplifier in a single unit. The inputs and outputs can be individually configured using a PC and interface module. Equipped with a wide-range power supply the Wave TTA ensures precise and stable operations with all common sensor types. The Wave TTA accepts and processes widely differing input signals - no matter if temperature signals such as from resistance thermometers or thermocouples, if potentiometers, frequency transmitters or DC voltage or current signals. The unit isolates, transmits and linearises sensor signals and supplies standardised analogue current and voltage signals to the output. For alarm functions there are two relay contacts with configurable switching thresholds. Precision measurement accuracy is a distinguishing characteristic of this unit. The Wave TTA (protection class IP 20) also features a compact design (92.4 mm x 112.5 mm x 45 mm, L x H x W) and can be deployed without restrictions in ambient temperatures from -40 to 70 °C. Approvals applied for include C1D2 and Zone 2 (ATEX) for hazardous area deployment.
