(pressebox) (Cologne, 15.11.2008) The Sunrise Period of tel-domains opens at 15:00 GMT on 3 December 2008 and closes at 23:59 GMT on 2 February 2009.
Owners and licensees of trademarks registered with national effect may apply for tel-domains. Trademarks must have been applied for prior to 30 May 2008 and registered prior to the date the Sunrise application is submitted. Applications for tel-domains may be based on both word and figurative (device) marks that consist exclusively or predominantly of words.
Sunrise registrations will carry a three-year term.
The selection method for tel-domains is first-come, first-served. The Validation Agent will review applications for tel-domains for conformity with the Sunrise Policy.
All Sunrise applications for tel-domains will be validated by Deloitte.
If an application is rejected, the applicant will have 10 days to file an appeal. If an application for a tel-domain is accepted, third parties will have 10 days to file a challenge.
Sunrise Policy Registrations for tel-domains during Sunrise are subject to the standard registration conditions contained in Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and the Sunrise Policy.
