(pressebox) (Olching, 06.12.2011) In Haas LTI's robustly manufactured BEC beam expanders the inner lenses are set up in such a way that they do not rotate around their own axis during focusing. The size of the outer part of the beam expander remains unchanged. This is quite advantageous for the mechanical construction of laser units and makes adjustments easier. Due to this construction, the size of the beam expander has always been larger than in simpler versions.

New is the short version. Haas has recently optimized this design and offers a short version for expansion factors of 1.5 to 2.5. This has resulted in a reduction in the entire length from 6.25" to 12 cm and thus a reduction in weight.
