The fiber-guiding V-groove can be quickly removed and replaced by other fiber mounts. Thus, this device can not only be used as a single fiber solution but for splicing fiber ribbons and “rollable ribbon” cables as well. Depending on the guide element, ribbons with two, four, eight, or twelve fibers and a 200 µm or 250 μm cladding can be supported. Regardless of the fiber type, the automatic offset correction always guarantees a good splice result – in just 13 to 15 seconds. The robust device is easy to operate via a touchpad and has a WiFi option for easy control and data transmission.

Fiber ribbons – especially rollable ribbon fibers – are becoming increasingly popular where many fibers have to be laid in a short amount of time.
