(pressebox) (Dresden, 02.09.2011) After 3 years of cooperative research and with InfraTec participation an international joint project, officially named “Resource-saving and sustainable production of high-quality steel by enhanced on-line control of stirring efficiency in vacuum degassing“ (BMBF project no: 0330848A/B), has been completed successfully. Within the project work, especially with the studies at the Austrian partner BÖHLER Edelstahl GmbH & Co KG, a number of practical experiences using high-performance infrared thermography technology under extremely demanding ambient conditions was gained. The useful insights that were obtained together with VDEh-Betriebsforschungsinstitut (BFI) in Düsseldorf will be made available for other steelwork plants, too. Specific enquiries have already been received.
