Continental Supervisory Board Extends Contract with Executive Board Member Heinz-Gerhard Wente

- Strengthening of industry business as key strategic goal


In its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Continental AG, Hanover, extended the contract of Executive Board member Heinz-Gerhard Wente until April 30, 2015. "We are intensively pursuing the strategic goal of further strengthening the ContiTech division's industry business. Here, we are relying heavily on the vast experience of a top manager whose knowledge of the company as well as its competitors and markets is nearly unrivalled," commented Supervisory Board Chairman Prof. Wolfgang Reitzle on the reappointment.

After completing a commercial apprenticeship at Continental AG and studying economics in Hanover and Göttingen, Wente (62) pursued his entire career in the Continental Corporation. He held several management positions in the corporation, including the position of Executive Board member responsible for Human Resources and Director of Labor Relations from May 2007 to December 2011. Wente has been responsible for the ContiTech division since October 2008.
