X-FAB Gains AEO Certification

Erfurt and Dresden sites now "authorized economic operators"

Erfurt, Germany, (PresseBox) - The X-FAB Silicon Foundries Group, the leading analog/mixed-signal foundry, today announced that it has been granted the status of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) for its German sites at Erfurt and Dresden. This certification - issued by German Customs and recognized in all European Union (EU) member states - identifies X-FAB as a reliable and trustworthy company that fulfills requirements relating to monitoring systems, solvency, lawful conduct and security standards for the international movement of goods. By achieving the highest possible level of certification, "Authorized Economic Operator Full," X-FAB benefits from simplified customs procedures, less stringent security-related monitoring and preferred, straightforward treatment during customs clearance.

"We are delighted to have achieved AEO certification for our German sites," says Dr. Manfred Riemer, COO of the X-FAB Group. "Indeed, we are the first company in Erfurt certified as an Authorized Economic Operator. This certification not only represents our contribution to making the supply chain secure, but also leaves our customers confident about our fundamental commitment to quality and integrity."
