Customer experience starts at the ATM

Wincor Nixdorf CTO to speak about self-service networking and mobile channels at the European ATMs 2013 Conference & Expo

(PresseBox) (Paderborn, ) At the European ATMs 2013 Conference and Expo, Wincor Nixdorf, one of the world's leading providers of IT solutions for financial institutions, will show banks how they can optimise the self-service banking experience of their customers through hardware, software and services tailored for seamless interaction. Visitors to the exhibition on 5th and 6th June 2013 at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in London will see the latest in automated teller machine technology, software solutions for optimising and safeguarding banks' self-service sales channels, and a range of IT services that can help them to increase the availability of the self-service network - all from a single source. On the 6th of June, Wincor Nixdorf CTO Reinhard Rabenstein will also present "The mobile opportunity - using mobile and self-service technologies to create business value".

Creating a positive experience for customers interacting with their banks and at the same time optimising business processes are two major challenges facing financial institutions today. A look at the statistics shows how important the self-service channel has become in this context: Each UK citizen has one ATM contact per week - this is the result of three billion ATM-based cash transactions in the UK per annum - twice as much as the rest of Europe, according to the European Central Bank. To ensure customer satisfaction, banks must ensure maximum availability and security of their ATMs, which serve as their key customer point of contact. They can further implement a seamless customer experience by offering new products and services, such as mobile banking, via the self-service channel.

In London, Wincor Nixdorf will showcase its extensive range of self-service solutions for branches of all types. Banks can learn how to maximize availability and protect their ATM investments, ensure a high level of security against fraudulent attacks and provide new innovative functionalities to enhance the customer experience. At the trade event, Wincor Nixdorf will also demonstrate how banks can upgrade to its new line of CINEO systems, in addition to its Optical Security Guard solution, its PC/E software platform with seamless integration to the mobile channel, and its ATM Management solution.

Reliable multifunctional systems

Wincor Nixdorf's modular ATM technology opens up completely new opportunities for managing cash. For example, its uniform banknote storage approach enables the exchange of cash cassettes between CINEO-generation ATMs. The company will demonstrate how the transfer of cassettes between a deposit-heavy cash recycling system and a cash dispenser, which often needs replenishing, can help significantly reduce the work and expense of cash logistics. CINEO cash dispensers also feature a unique conversion concept: they can be upgraded to cash recyclers if a bank determines that a site traditionally used for cash dispensing would be ideal for recycling. In addition, Wincor Nixdorf offers Cash Management Solutions Base Software to control all the complex processes necessary for managing the cash supply chain.

Wincor Nixdorf understands that modern self-service solutions should do more than just process cash. At the event, banks can discover how the modular CINEO concept can help them automate other processes and transactions as well, such coin processing, end-to-end check processing, and system communication through mobile devices via near field communication (NFC).

Security: integrated from the outset

Security is a key issue for both the self-service channel and IT services. Wincor Nixdorf has a comprehensive security concept for safeguarding its systems against the increasingly clever strategies of high-tech thieves. The company's software-based PC/Terminal Security solution shields systems against attacks by hackers and protects them from manipulation through a concept that is unique in the industry - Optical Security Guard, which continually monitors the user interface of the device for signs of even the smallest interference. The solution recognizes keyboard overlays, manipulated card readers and hidden cameras to record users' PINs, among other tricks.

Increase availability of the self-service network

Banks can only ensure customer experience with high availability of their self-service network if they have a 360-degree view of their ATM estate. Wincor Nixdorf helps them achieve this goal. The company offers enterprise monitoring software such as ProView, which allows banks to stay in control and keep all system information in view all the time and effectively manage service processes. For banks who may want to outsource the responsibility for its self-service network Wincor Nixdorf offers an ATM Management solution ranging from ATM Monitoring via its eServices Platform to ATM Operations as well as ATM Network Operations that expands the front-end focus to the back-end. Visitors to the London event will discover sourcing options for selective and full operations of complex ATM infrastructures and applications. Any option opens far-reaching business benefits such as optimized processes and lower costs.
