VNG establishes VNG Polska Sp. z o.o. (VNG Polska)

Leipzig, (PresseBox) - VNG - Verbundnetz Gas Aktiengesellschaft (VNG) established its wholly-owned subsidiary VNG Polska Sp. z o.o. (VNG Polska) on 1st of July 2009. The VNG Group is bringing together its shareholdings HANDEN Sp. z o.o., which is responsible for gas imports and gas trading, and NYSAGAZ Sp. z o.o., which is responsible for the heat business, in VNG Polska. Gaz Energia S.A. (G.EN), which is responsible for gas distribution, will be integrated in the VNG Polska Group in a second step before the end of this year. G.EN has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of VNG since 2005.

"VNG began its engagement in the Polish gas market back in 1992," Prof. Dr. Gerhardt Wolff, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VNG Polska and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of VNG, commented. VNG opened a Representative Office in Warsaw ten years ago with a view to maintaining and intensifying its contacts with Polish partners. "We are pleased to be setting up this holding company today which will allow us to deal even more efficiently with the commercial requirements of our Polish shareholdings and participations at local level," Wolff added.
