Alliance between CNC-Arena and VDMA's e-market for high-precision tools now finalised
"Our agreement opens up to CNC-Arena's members and visitors a comprehensive range of tools for machining applications", is how Frank Nolden, Managing Director of CNC-Arena, describes the benefits for users. At present, 17 topranking German precision tool manufacturers are showcasing more than 200,000 products in the VDMA's Tools E-Market. To quote Stefan Prasse, Managing Director of the publishers VDMA Verlag: "Vendors of highprecision tools will benefit from our agreement, because thanks to the presence of a second independent portal they can purposefully reach a wider clientele." The plan is for both portals to be progressed and to open up and internationalise the Tools E-Market to extend beyond the VDMA's members.
The Tools E-Market differs from other internet platforms in that the user is able to describe the product he's looking for in terms of substantive features. This assures the desired accuracy, and upgrades the quality of the search results. The substantive features concerned are modelled on DIN 4000, and are thus an accepted industrial standard.
With the Tools E-Market, CNC-Arena will be starting up a third marketplace in addition to those for new and preowned machines, and thus upsizing its qualitydriven capabilities. CNC-Arena, as one of the leading online portals for metalworking for around 10 years, is optimally established on its chosen market. Currently, more than 57,000 users (most of them qualified experts for manufacturing technology) are registered with www.cnc-arena.com. They make regular use of the portal's capabilities, which include not only the marketplaces mentioned, but also discussion forums on issues ranging from jobs security to tool design and mould construction, news with information on the sector, on companies, on products and technologies, videos supplied by CNC-Arena TV and job offers; and finally the virtual trade fair, plus the Sheet Metal Arena and the Grinding Arena information portals.
