transtec is organising its first business breakfast with IBM, Intel and ANSYS at ISC 2012 in Hamburg. On Tuesday 19 June, Dr. Oliver Tennert, who heads up the High-Performance Computing and Technology Management divisions at transtec, and experts from the host companies will be presenting HPC concepts for mid-sized firms. In particular, these will include new, simple user and management concepts for HPC environments. Alongside the breakfast sessions, transtec will once again also have its own stand at the ISC in Hamburg, where it will be discussing topics such as big data analytics, GPU computing and exascale computing.

As Dr. Oliver Tennert explains: "Our business breakfast shows how important high-performance computing for mid-sized users has become to the big brands. Over the last 30 years, transtec has gained a wealth of expertise and know-how in the specific IT requirements of mid-sized companies. This gives us an edge in designing solutions for the technical and scientific computing sector - and makes us a valuable partner for IBM and Intel."

transtec is attending ISC for the eighth time. The high-performance computing segment currently makes up around 25 percent of sales at transtec and is one of the fastest growing parts of the business. The new transtec HPC Technology Compass 2012/13, in which the transtec HPC team showcases the latest developments, has been published just in time for ISC. It can be downloaded from http://www.transtec.de/en/high-performance-computing

The business breakfast will feature 15-minute presentations from:

Dr. Oliver Tennert (transtec): HPC in Industry
Werner Krotz-Vogel (Intel): Intel Cluster Ready – wie lässt man ein Cluster für Engineering-Simulationen einfacher laufen / Taking the Complexity Out of Running a Cluster for Engineering Simulation – Intel Cluster Ready
Wim Slagter (Ansys): Optimizing IT Efficiency for Engineering Simulation
Louise Westoby (IBM): Topic not yet finalised.
