SOLON further expands manufacturing site in Greifswald
An additional 900 solar modules will be manufactured on the new production line with a capacity of 50 MWp - an average of one every 90 seconds. This is the fourth line of its kind in Greifswald. It produces solar modules based on crystalline technology, which are primarily used in largescale projects. The line is designed to be flexible and can handle the production of a variety of SOLON modules. The equipment used on the new production line was purchased exclusively from established European manufacturers.
Stefan Säuberlich, CEO of SOLON SE, underlined his company's commitment to the manufacturing site in Greifswald: "SOLON is a premium manufacturer and places the greatest demands on the quality of its products. Our manufacturing site in Greifswald makes a significant contribution to the success of the company as a whole. Expanding the capacity of this site will help us to better serve the increased demand in Germany and around the world." Udo Possin, managing director of ml&s, the service provider carrying out production for SOLON at the site, welcomed SOLON's commitment to Greifswald: "We are happy to contribute to more job security in the region, especially in an industry with a promising future." SOLON Nord had already increased production capacity in 2008 due to the sharp increase in demand. Through this new expansion, SOLON continues to show its commitment to Greifswald as a manufacturing site.
