MTU Maintenance adds GE90-110B and -115B engines to its portfolio
Repair services for the world's largest jet engine round off the shop's maintenance offerings
Preparations for GE90-110B and -115B engine shop visits are in full swing at Hannover. The test cell, which has recently been expanded, is capable of accommodating the world's highestthrust jet engine. The necessary certificates have been obtained from the European Air Safety Agency (EASA) and its U.S. counterpart, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The GE90-110B and -115B are the exclusive engines powering Boeing's 777-200LR and 777-300ER. To date, some 300 of the world's largest twinjets are in revenue service with airlines, and about another 300 are on order.
MTU Maintenance Hannover boasts decades of experience in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of highthrust engines. The company started to provide support for GE's CF6 family of engines back when the shop launched operations. This propulsion system powers the Airbus A300/A310/A330 family and is found also on other aircraft, such as the Boeing 747 and 767 and DC-10/MD-11.
