Luminary Micro Launches Fourth Generation of Stellaris ARM® CortexT-M3 Microcontrollers at Embedded World 2009

First public showing of integrated Ethernet, USB, and CAN in a Cortex-M3 microcontroller

(PresseBox) (Texas , ) Luminary Micro, creators of the award-winning Stellaris® family of ARM® CortexT-M3-based microcontrollers (MCUs), today announces it will be offering previews of its fourth generation family of Stellaris MCUs at Embedded World (stand 9-140). The newest Stellaris MCUs offer impressive 80MHz performance, integrated Ethernet, USB, and CAN, a powerful external interface, and extremely low operating power.

Jean Anne Booth, Chief Marketing Officer at Luminary Micro says: "We see Embedded World as the perfect platform to showcase the most integrated embedded microcontroller in the market. Visitors to the show can look forward to having an exclusive preview of the Tempest class of Stellaris MCUs, a unique vision of the most advanced microcontrollers coming to the embedded market."

The newest Stellaris microcontrollers are ideal for advanced motion control, energy conversion, security access and controls, industrial control, and connectivity applications. With this launch, Luminary Micro will have more than 150 ARM-based microcontrollers available in the market; extending the broadest ARM-based line card in the industry.

In addition, those attending Embedded World 2009 can anticipate sighting of a soon-to-be-launched development kit 4"x2" platform board with 3.5" QVGA touch screen which offers compelling functionality at a very attractive price point. Luminary Micro will also be demonstrating the recently released Brush DC motor controller module which has already generated worldwide interest in industrial market segments for the abrasive, high-contact environment that the module is designed to withstand.
