What makes women feel elated

The new TL 71/1/36 shows off its potential

(PresseBox) (Obertshausen, ) There's no secret to what women want - in fact, it's very simple. Since the beginning of time, women have always been enchanted by fine lingerie, underwear and delicate lace fabrics.

KARL MAYER is well aware of this, and is therefore constantly refining and revamping its range of lace machines by optimising their features and introducing new models. The latest machine is the TL 71/1/36, an impressive addition to the Textronic® lace series, which can produce a wider range of patterns of even better quality and at faster machine speeds, especially on wide lace ribbons. The speed of this new model is 40% higher than the similar, high-bar lace machine, the TL/66/1/36, and the number of pattern bars behind the fall plate has been increased to 30.

This extended configuration enables all the usual Textronic® patterns to be worked with no problems whatsoever, but the machine also has the potential to create completely new designs. An example of this is the lace pattern shown.

Delicate, relief-like flowers float on gently babbling water, crossed by rippling waves at the edges and with a golden shimmer in the centre that almost seems to reflect the sun's rays. The types of yarn used, which have different dyeing properties, have created this subtle, two-colour effect. Whereas the weft-laying bars process viscose, the yarn guides of the stitch-forming guide bars process polyamide. The subsequent package dyeing process sprinkles 'gold dust' over the lightweight fabric to produce even more special effects in the design, which already features a variety of contrasting effects. Dense, filigree zones, together with open, loose stitch structures, create a varied and interesting ground, on which flowers, sometimes in pairs, seem to rise up almost three-dimensionally from the fabric alongside wavy, relief patterns. The result is a tool for fashioning exquisite effects on lingerie or decorative details on clothing. This can be seen quite clearly from the lace shown in the 'Patterns' section of this issue under KARL MAYER pattern no. 140/2009.
