JDA Software Appoints Wayne Usie to Senior Vice President of the Americas and Fred Baumann to Vice President of Collabor
New Positions Support JDA’s Commitment to Improve Client Service
Scottsdale, Ariz. - March 27 2003 - JDA® Software Group, Inc. announced the appointment of Wayne J. Usie, formerly JDA’s senior vice president of product development, to senior vice president of the Americas, including the United States, Canada and Latin America. Additionally, the company promoted Fred Baumann from senior director to vice president of collaborative solutions.
According to JDA President, Hamish Brewer, Usie’s and Baumann’s new positions further strengthen JDA’s commitment to its Customer Value Program (CVP). “In order to improve the quality and consistency of our clients’ experience, we must have the right leadership in place,” commented Brewer. “Both Wayne and Fred are proven leaders who are well qualified to ensure that our clients achieve maximum ROI by realizing their goals on a timelier, more cost effective basis.”
Usie to Oversee JDA’s Largest Region
As a technology innovator and former retail executive, Usie, who will report to Brewer, is uniquely positioned to lead the charge of developing and strengthening relationships with JDA’s valued clients in the Company’s largest region. Since joining JDA in January 2001, Usie led the development efforts behind two major synchronized releases of the JDA Portfolio® products, including the integration of applications and business processes. He also launched JDA’s strategy to transition Portfolio solutions to Microsoft .NET to deliver more functional and flexible applications to clients in less time and at a lower total cost of ownership.
Prior to joining JDA, Usie served as vice president of information technology at Family Dollar Stores, Inc., a $4.1 billion publicly traded mass merchant discount retailer. While at Family Dollar, Usie led a sizeable development team on the successful implementation and management of several large-scale packaged systems and internally developed applications that supported over 4,000 retail locations and six distribution centers at the time of his employment.
Prior to Family Dollar, Usie served as vice president and chief financial and information officer at a New Orleans, LA-based retailer as well as president and CEO of International Networking and Computer Consultants, Inc.
Baumann Serves as JDA’s “Voice of Collaboration”
Since joining JDA as part of the Company’s acquisition of the E3 Corporation in September 2001, Baumann has played an integral role in launching JDA’s Collaborative Solutions offering and driving JDA’s trading community strategies. In his new role, Baumann is responsible for ensuring the worldwide growth of JDA’s collaborative business and will continue to influence the development of industry standards. Baumann will report to Usie.
In 1998, Baumann helped develop the CPFR® guidelines for the Voluntary Inter-industry Commerce Standards Association (VICS). Today he holds the strategic position as co-leader of the VICS CPFR Replenishment sub-team and is an advisory board member of the CPFR industry subcommittee. A frequent speaker at supply chain collaboration conferences, Baumann is often quoted in supply chain periodicals, and is a contributor in the upcoming book, “Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment” authored by Dr. Dirk Seifert, formerly a visiting scholar at the Harvard Business School.
Previously, Baumann spent seven years in various roles at The Pillsbury Company such as sales, category management and value chain. He was also responsible for initiating the Company’s collaborative inventory program with a leading tier one mass merchandise retailer and executing numerous value chain strategies.
