JD's EAGLE conquers Europe

JD Group supports EAGLE market introduction with a European wide PR Tour and UNICEF charity auction

(PresseBox) (Bad Nauheim, ) The JD Group, a major manufacturer of bicycle components and leading developer of electric technology for electric bicycles, has landed a major success with its EAGLE industry launch and is now boosting this ebike's European market entry with a comprehensive PR tour.

PR tour through Europe's leading capitals

The EAGLE was presented to local newspapers, lifestyle magazines and bicycle industry press at three media events in the European capital cities of Paris, Amsterdam and London. Among the distinguished media present were le Figaro, Telegraaf, Sunday Express, Cosmopolitan, Men's Health, Veronica Magazine, and others.

The presentation featured background information about the multiple awardwinning city ebike and the TranzX PST drive system as well as a test drive through lively neighborhoods, past some of each city's most famous landmarks and straight through busy downtown areas. This highlight provided guests with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the unique characteristics of the EAGLE and be persuaded by the beneficial support that ebikes offer.

Several participating media outlets have followedup with requests to conduct their own indepth testing and review, underscoring the growing interest in the stylish EAGLE. JD's Technical Service Center in Bad Nauheim continues to send out ebikes to meet this demand, offering a clear first look at this innovative technology.

Following the EAGLE's first preview at the March 2009 Taipei Cycle Show and its industry launch in 2009, the ebike has been available for consumers in many European countries as of this spring.

In a number of markets, including Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom, the EAGLE ebike has been received with much critical acclaim and is available under the brand names of respected bicycle manufacturers in the various countries.

The JD Group is pursuing a European wide PR tour specifically for the EAGLE to support the next phase of its market introduction.

In addition to the capitals of Paris, Amsterdam and London, the cities of Madrid and Padova, near Venice, are on this tour's agenda for mid- September 2010. At the Festibike and Expobici trade fairs, JD will feature the EAGLE during a press event alongside two other TranzX PST ebike models, the Falcon and Low-Step.

JD supports UNICEF charity auction

An additional stop on the EAGLE PR tour was also made in s'Herzogenbosch, the Netherlands. As part of a UNICEF promotion, the EAGLE was displayed during the UNICEF Open 2010 lawn tennis event and donated by JD for a UNICEF charity auction. In addition to many enthusiastic responses from tournament visitors, the trendy ebike also captivated the interest of the tennis stars.

Numerous tennis pros added their signatures to the EAGLE, which has a retail value of around EUR 2,000, to increase the amount raised for charity.

Among them were top WTA pros like Justine Henin, Ana Ivanovic and Maria Kirilenko, as well as top ATP players Ivan Ljubi?i?, Marcos Baghdatis, Tommy Robredo, Robin Haase and Thiemo de Bakker.

The UNICEF EAGLE ebike found a new owner thanks to an impressive EUR 3,000 donation. Tournament press speaker Martin de Beer and project leader for UNICEF Netherlands Saskia Bolte-Souverijn presented the stylish bicylce to the proud winners, a couple from Nijkerk, near Amersfort.

The donation in the amount of EUR 3,000 will benefit the UNICEF Sport for Development program. UNICEF works with governments and partners throughout the world to use sportbased programs to improve children's lives and to strengthen communities.

The money raised by the EAGLE charity promotion specifically will be used to train physical education teachers and sport coaches in schools in South Africa.
