Safety competence of infoteam SET GmbH in demand for promising project with charisma
MULTI plays an important role in planning and designing modern cityscapes of tomorrow

The infoteam SET GmbH, headquartered in the Nuremberg metropolitan region, has received a follow-up order from thyssenkrupp Elevator for the new MULTI lift system. The order is for the development of safety-relevant software for the control system of the revolutionary lift. The project period is set from the beginning of September 2020 to the end of October 2022.

The commissioning underlines the client's high level of confidence in infoteam's software development expertise. "We are very proud to be able to support this project with international dimensions and charisma of thyssenkrupp Elevator," says Gregor Schmitt, Managing Director of infoteam SET GmbH.

Lift system of tomorrow

The cabs of the world's first ropeless multi-cab lift system "MULTI" will be driven by linear motors instead of ropes. This allows several cabs to be moved in one shaft with high acceleration forces and can be diverted into horizontal galleries at the same time. The system thus allows both horizontal and vertical access to ultra-modern buildings. In addition, the shaft height becomes independent of the technical limit at a rope length of currently approx. 600 metres. Architecturally, this opens up new possibilities for the metropolises of the future.

Safety competence from infoteam

infoteam SET GmbH was already an important partner in the MULTI project during the pre-development phase and was able to help drive it forward. The newly signed follow-up contract includes a further project phase which comprises the specification and programming of the safety-relevant control system.

Since the MULTI is a revolution with new requirements, the safety-relevant control system must be examined primarily with regard to the safety functions of the software and corresponding solutions must be implemented. Based on conformity with standards and many years of safety expertise, infoteam SET GmbH is now developing this safety-relevant control system. It monitors the lift control so that people and goods can be transported safely.

Joachim Strobel, CEO of infoteam, is pleased about tkE's "yes" to infoteam SET GmbH: "This order shows that thyssenkrupp Elevator is very satisfied with our performance and competence. The project is not only extremely significant from an economic point of view, but also confirms to us once again that our expertise is helping to move the market at crucial points."
