New Fluorescence Module for the NanoZoomer Digital Pathology

Hamamatsu Photonics, a world leader in digital pathology automated scanning devices, are pleased to announce the availability of the new Fluorescence Module for the NanoZoomer Digital Pathology slide scanning system.

Hamamatsu Photonics extends its scanning flexibility with the new fluorescence module for NanoZoomer 2.0 series.

With more than 5 years of experience in the world of virtual microscopy, Hamamatsu Photonics now introduces a new fluorescence module for its Nanozoomer 2.0 slide scanners.

Multiple fluorophores and brightfield imaging on the same system: Based on a combination of automated filter-wheels with up to six filter positions (excitation/emission) and filter-cubes, Hamamatsu's NanoZoomer 2.0 is now able to scan numerous colour channels, thus offering improved flexibility. With its state-of-the-art TDI camera technology, the NanoZoomer 2.0 acquires images in both multi-channel fluorescence and brightfield mode, sequentially at highest speed.

Advanced visualization of whole-slide images: It becomes easy, with NDP.View, to visualize fluorescence and brightfield images simultaneously, hide one channel or another, adjust all viewing parameters easily. Each colour image is saved independently, for better software analysis and information treatment.

Performant excitation light source and optics: With its LX2000, Hamamatsu Photonics proposes a powerful (200W) and long-lifetime fluorescent light source (up to 2000h). The optimized optics used in the NanoZoomer 2.0 considerably decreases photobleaching for outstanding image quality.

Flexibility of the NanoZoomer 2.0 series: The new fluorescence accessory can be added to both Nanozoomer models, the 2.0 HT, with a 210-slide loading capability for high-throughput scans of large batches As well as to the compact 2.0 RS, that can scan up to 6 slides (76mm x 26mm), with the same high resolution and high scanning speed as the HT. The 2.0 RS model can also handle 2 double-size slides (76mm x 52mm).
