(PresseBox) (Idstein, ) ELRIG is known for providing UK events for the academic, industrial research and development communities. The shows deliver a relaxed atmosphere for networking and catching up with industry contacts, colleagues and peers. Supported by high-quality scientific presentations from leading institutions provides the delegates with high value information and superb industry insight.

The one-day conference focused on enabling communication, education and networking opportunities for scientists engaged in early-phase drug discovery, provided a valuable, cost-effective regional event for industry professionals across academia, biotech and industry. The general buzz and tone of conversation were positive, with many interesting discussions taking place onsite. Scientific sessions focusing on cellular toxicology in drug discovery, innovation in cell culture, and tags and binders as tools for probing biological systems had been chosen due to their importance within many areas of drug discovery research Conference Director, Mike Jowett and his Scientific Committee excelled themselves by bringing together a variety of high-calibre speakers for the three tracks. Delegate feedback on the range & content was excellent.

This was our first visit to the Telford International Centre, which worked well, providing 3 good auditoria, a vibrant exhibition hall, innovation zone and posters area.

227 delegates attended, with 27 exhibitors and 20 posters. A great turn out despite the wintry weather, a very encouraging start to this new event. Look out for news of our 2014 "Research and Innovation" event.
