BOY quartet shows top performances at Swiss Plastics

(PresseBox) ( Neustadt-Fernthal, )
With a total of four machines, BOY, the manufacturer of injection moulding machines with clamping forces up to 1,000 kN, will participate at the Swiss Plastics (January 21-23 2014) in Lucerne. At the booth of the Swiss BOY distributor Plastiversum AG, three BOY machines will be demonstrated in hall 1 / booth 1012 and will include a cleanroom application during this special show.

Three at one booth

The new BOY 25 E, which has been presented for the first time at K 2013, will produce delicacy dishes made of special Polystyrene. With a footprint of only 1,77 m², the BOY 25 E is a completely new development that is based on proven machine components from predecessor models. Years of experience and the sale of over 25,000 machines from this ever-developing model range characterize this latest version of the worldwide top-selling BOY injection moulding machine model.

A liquid silicone rubber application (LSR) on the BOY XS will impress the visitors by way of the compactness of the machine together with the integrated removal automation system. The BOY XS will produce highly transparent Fresnel lenses made of the two material components. The lenses will be removed out of the mould by a picker, which is integrated under the protective housing, and will be placed on a narrow conveyor belt on the rear side.

The third machine at the Plastiversum booth will be a BOY 2C XS, and will be shown as single exhibit. Visitors will clearly see that the injection unit for the 2nd component is suitable for a multitude of injection moulding machines of any brand. Thus, a conventional injection moulding machine can become extremely economical as a multi-component machine through the connection of one or more BOY 2C XS machines. Depending on the machine execution, plasticizing volumes of up to 76,5 cm³ and injection pressures of max. 3.128 bar are possible with the BOY 2C XS.

BOY 35 E with a cleanroom application at the special show

The BOY 35 E (350 kN clamping force), which is equipped with an antistatic coating, will produce insulin syringe protection caps in a 16-cavity mould under cleanroom class 7 laminar flow (according to ISO 14 644). For reasons of sterility, the protection caps are packed in aseptic packaging immediately after removal from of the mould. Printed with production data for potential retracing, the transparent bags are sealed air tight. The packaging machine is positioned under the cantilevered clamping unit to save valuable floor space. The harmonious cleanroom concept of the four-tie bar injection moulding machine of the E-series is completed by a higher ground clearance.

The renewed presence at the highly technologically oriented Swiss Plastics will contribute to the strengthening of the BOY market position and its distributor Plastiversum in Switzerland.
