Data Modul AG business results for the 1st half and 2nd quarter of 2007
Profit after tax improved by 48.3 % to 2.1 mio. Eur. for the Corporation in the 1st half 2007
segments according to IFRS. During the first half of the year, both of the continuing business segments showed a pleasing development, where by the EBIT increased by 203.7 % to 6.0 million euros (2.0 million euros last year). The EBIT return achieved of 8.5 % significantly exceeded our planning. The profit after tax of 2.1 million euros in the Corporation exceeded last year’s amount by 48.3 %, despite accruing 3.1 million euros for restructuring and closing costs for the discontinued Multi-media segment.
The total Corporation, including the discontinued Multi-media segment, achieved revenues amounting to 78.9 million euros in the first half year (74.0 million euros last year). Due to significant growth, both of the continuing business segments of Industry and Information systems were more than able to compensate for the revenue decline in the segment of Multi-media. Order entry for the Corporation in the continuing business segments reached 76.8 million euros in the first half of 2007 (69.9 million euros last year). The theoretical range for revenues based on the order backlog continues to be about six months. The export quota for the Corporation reached 31.2 % (30.1 % last year). For the first half of the year, the earnings per share were 0.65 euros, which is an increase of 47.7 % compared to last year’s amount of 0.44 euros. The equity ratio for the Corporation (according to IFRS) amounted to 36.7 % (35.0 % last year) and 72.3 % (69.1 % last year) for Data Modul AG (according to HGB) as of 6/30/2007.
As a result of having focussed on development, production and sales capacity through the discontinuation of the business segment Multi-media, we anticipate a significant revenue and profit improvement for both continuing business segments of Industry and Information systems in the future.
