Common Criteria Conference in Paris: cryptovision is awarded four certificates for ePasslet Suite
The cv act ePasslet Suite from cryptovision sets a new standard for electronic ID documents thanks to fourfold Common Criteria EAL 4+ certification
Not only is such an approach more flexible, it also meets the highest security standards. In four evaluation processes conducted in parallel, the ePasslet Suite has been thoroughly tested by TÜViT and subsequently certified by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). Benjamin Drisch, Product Manager at cryptovision, personally received the certificates at the International Common Criteria Conference held in Paris from September 18-20, 2012.
These certified security functions cover all common applications for eID documents and electronic signature creation devices making the ePasslet Suite the solution with the most comprehensive certified functional range. Additionally, this modular approach enables up-to-date eID document mechanisms to be used for enterprise applications. For instance, this allows for contactless cards to employ secure PIN entry using the PACE protocol, recently standardized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as part of future ePassports, to be used for digital signing uses. The certified applications can also be combined with further applications already included in the ePasslet Suite, re-sulting in an unlimited number of different usage scenarios each uniquely suited to the requirements of each docu-ment.
Unlike many conventional identity documents, the ePasslet Suite is based on the Java Card standard. As another unique selling point, ePasslet Suite is card supplier independent. Says Benjamin Drisch: "The clever designed multi-functionality of ePasslet Suite has drawn interest in this product all over the world. I expect that the EAL4+ certifica-tion will further raise the demand."
