Giorgio Anania Appointed Chairman of the Board at Cube Optics AG

(PresseBox) (Mainz, ) Cube Optics AG, the supplier of electooptical engineered components and fiber-optic access network solutions to the telecommunications industry, are delighted to welcome Dr. Giorgio Anania as Chairman of the Board.

"I am proud to welcome such an experienced industry professional as Giorgio to the Cube Optics Board of Directors," said Dr. Francis Nedvidek, CEO & Chairman of the Cube Optics Executive Management Team.

Dr. Anania joined the Cube Optics Board of Directors as an independent board member in May of 2007 as Cube Optics revamped its strategy and launched its development of miniature electro-optical modules for 40G and 100G telecommunications transceivers. Giorgio takes over from Duncan Lewis who recently left Cube Optics upon becoming CEO of Vislink PLC.

Dr. Anania brings more than 25 years of high-technology industry experience to the company. Before joining the Cube Optics Board, held the position of CEO of Bookham since February 2001, a company which he helped take public on NASDAQ in 2000 when revenues grew from zero to $220 million per year through acquisitions and internal development. Prior to CEO, he served as Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing after having joined Bookham in 1998. Previously, Dr. Anania was Vice President for Sales, Marketing, and Business Development at Flamel Technologies (NASQAQ: FLML), a French medical equipment company, which he helped take public in 1996. Prior to Flamel Technologies, Dr. Anania headed Strategic Marketing for Telecom at Raychem Corporation in California where he started one of the world's first DSL businesses. Dr. Anania also spent several years with Booz Allen in New York and OC&C in Paris as a senior strategy consultant. He has a BA from Oxford University in Physics and a PhD from Princeton University in Thermonuclear Fusion.
