Cassidian, the defence division of EADS, will present its high-class portfolio of defence and security products at the International Defence Technology Exhibition and Prevention of Natural Disasters, SITDEF Peru 2013, which will take place between the 15th and 19th May 2013 in Lima.

Christian Gras, Head of Cassidian Sales Latin America declared: "SITDEF 2013 is a major opportunity to present our technologies and services. Cassidian is a worldwide leader in integrated security solutions and has an unique experience and expertise in maritime border protection. Our main aim is to ensure our customer's needs are satisfied"

Sharing at the EADS stand, Cassidian presents its technological progress by staging interactive, latest generation scenarios projected in 3D in the so-called TouchLab.

Cassidian offers profound long-term experience and technological know-how in the complete range of Electronic Warfare (EW). Cassidian provides products and solutions starting form platform self protection over classical electronic intelligence and electronic attack complemented by protection and security of sites /areas/ individuals and refined by ground support and training.

Besides offering intelligence solutions for monitoring, surveillance and reconnaisance - on mobile or stationary installations - Cassidian also comprises active EW capability as Radar and Communication related electronic counter measure systems. Cassidian systems provide highly, efficient, automatic initialization of appropriate countermeasures against hostile systems. The Communication Jamming activities have a broad range from military communication jammers up to the protection against RC-IEDs (Radio-controlled Improvised Explosive Devices) for military and civil applications.

MEOS II (Maritime Electro-Optical System) systems are high-performance multi-sensor platforms engineered for use on ships. Well suited for surveillance, intelligence gathering and target acquisition, they also serve search and rescue tasks. MEOS II's sensors provide enlightening images even in absolute darkness and heavy fog. It readily integrates into fire-control systems. Cassidian Optronics' record of achievement in periscopes runs deep with more than a century devoted to their development. Today the navies of 19 nations around the world employ our solutions comprised of high-performance periscopes and optronic mast systems.

In Latin America, Cassidian Optronics improves the mission effectiveness of the 209 class submarines of the Colombian Navy by installing state-of-the-art sighting systems. After the already ordered refurbishment of an attack periscope, the Colombian Navy has now ordered a SERO 250 search periscope from Cassidian Optronics for a 209 Class submarine. Cassidian Optronics is the well-known producer of optronic mast systems and periscopes for submarines, formerly known as Carl Zeiss Optronics.

The Naval 3D Multi-Mode Surveillance and Target Acquisition Radar, TRS-3D/16-ES is a fully coherent multi-mode phased array C-band radar capable of fully automatic detection, track initation, and classification of various types of targets. Even under severe clutter conditions encountered in the littoral, it detects and tracks with a particular emphasis on small, fast and low-flying aircraft, missiles, hovering helicopters and asymmetric threats. This ensures minimal operator workload and maximises operational effectiveness.

TB3p mini TETRA base station is suited for establishing indoor radio coverage, for stand-alone use and for providing areas with temporary radio network coverage. The TB3p has an extremely small carbon footprint. Its power consumption is only about 40W, which is less than 10 percent of a conventional macro base station. TB3p base stations can help eliminate the last gaps in radio network coverage - a benefit that network users will appreciate. The number one application for the TB3p is using it to build indoor coverage, for example for large public buildings, shopping centers or indoor car parks. It is also an extremely cost-effective way of filling coverage gaps. A third example is to use the TB3p as a stand-alone base station to provide hotspot coverage in places which the network may not reach. The TB3p is also easy to deploy for stand-alone or temporary coverage.

Thanks to its key technologies acquired over several decades of designing manned aerial systems (aircraft design, precision navigation, flight software architecture, standardised interfaces, mission planning, etc.), Cassdian is one of the leading companies in the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) market today. Cassidian develops and manufactures global solutions to meet the operational requirements of remote-controlled unmanned aerial systems (e.g. certification air traffic requirements, sensor control, air vehicle control).
