The Red Dot Design and iF award-winning office designer chair is manufactured in Japan and is now available in Europe under an exclusive distribution agreement with CAPIEM GmbH. The chair - originally designed in Germany - has a special, facet-like seat structure similar to the Origami, which improves the ergonomics of office workstations.

On October 24, 2018, the Japanese company ITOKI CORPORATION and CAPIEM GmbH have signed a cooperation agreement for the import and distribution of the successful and award-winning design chair with the Japanese name FLIP FLAP. The chair will be available in Europe under the brand name FURTIF®.

The design of the chair is distinctive and follows the design language of the Japanese origami concept of paper folding. The special shape is developed following ergonomic considerations. In contrast to standard ergonomic chairs, the structure of the seat and the backrest are movable in all three dimensions. Thus, the swivel chair supports different postures, invites the user to change the sitting position, and allows a long, fatigue-free working. The office chair has already received several prestigious international design awards for the interplay between its modern appearance and high user comfort. These include, among others, the Red Dot Design Award and the Gold Award of the iF International Forum Design. Overall, the FURTIF® chair has been awarded five design awards under the name FLIP FLAP and is thus one of the most awarded chairs worldwide.

ITOKI CORPORATION has been marketing the chair in Japan since 2016 and is now expanding its sales market to include Europe. Mr. Hirai, the president of ITOKI CORPORATION concretizes the cooperation with CAPIEM: „We are very pleased to have found with CAPIEM GmbH a partner in Europe who has the same understanding as we have in terms of quality and design. We look forward to working together and are confident that the FURTIF® chair will be as successful in Europe as it is in Japan.“

Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to test the new FURTIF® office chair soon realizes that the chair is setting new standards. „The FURTIF office chair is an excellent product, especially for modern office environments where the well-being of employees is valued,“ explains Mrs. Tina Paetzold, CAPIEM‘s Key Account Manager. „With FURTIF® we have an outstanding and award-winning design object with highest usability factor in the offer. We are pleased to be able to offer this distinctive Japanese chair with state-of-the-art design and ergonomic perfection to our customers in Europe in the future.“

The purchase of the FURTIF® design chair is possible as part of a „pre-sales“ campaign from November 22, 2018, for customers in Germany. In CAPIEM’s web-shop at www.furtif.de the chair can be preordered in different colors. The first delivery to customers is expected by mid-December.
