Becker Marine Systems at SMM 2010 - hall 1A, booth 450

Hamburg, (PresseBox) - Hamburgbased ship supplier Becker Marine Systems will once again be appearing alongside it's partner for steering gear, HATLAPA Uetersener Maschinenfabrik, at this year's SMM and will once more be welcoming visitors to its 170m2 stand. As a specialist in high performance rudders and manoeuvring systems, Becker Marine Systems offers a comprehensive range of products.

The focus of the fair presentation is on innovative product developments and their possibilities for optimizing propulsion. Following the great success of the Mewis Duct® launched in 2008, Becker Marine Systems will this year be reporting on the range of product features shown in operation. The Mewis Duct® has since proven itself on large bulk carriers and tankers and is now seen by owners and operators as an effective energysaving method. From the "Research and Development" department, Becker Marine Systems is presenting the newly developed "Flextail®" ruder. It features an innovative rudder design with an improved fibrecomposite fin for better flow and load handling. The farsighted company can also already offer its customers fibrecomposite rudder shaft.

Becker Marine Systems is the market leader for high performance rudders and manoeuvring systems for any type of ship. Becker's rudder systems are wellestablished on the world market and are sold for luxury yachts, super tankers, navy ships as well as container ships, passenger ferries and large cruise ships. Over 100 experts are employed worldwide at branch offices in Germany, China, Singapore, Korea, England and Norway.
