Mario Barth celebrates another world record - lighting designers Manfred "Ollie" Olma and Timm Lützen look to FALCON® searchlights for highlights

(PresseBox) (Olympic Stadium, Berlin, ) He did it again. Marion Barth's fans remained loyal to him and handed him another world record in the Olympic Stadium for his show "It's all men's fault," say women. A&O Technology supplied seventy FALCON searchlights for the event, which was recorded for DVD.

Over Whitsun weekend, the comedian Mario Barth attempted a new world record, holding out to his vast legion of fans an attractive programme and the prospect of a great evening. And in the event, with some 120,000 tickets scanned, the record was indeed broken. "It's all men's fault," say women - here, it would appear, both sexes were equally responsible.

As in 2008, the Barth team constructed an elaborate stage - featuring here seventy FALCON BEAM colour 7000W and FALCON 6000 CMY searchlights. These were used, on the one hand, as headlights at the Marathon Gate behind the stage, where their beams were directed through the cleft in the stadium roof and out into the night sky, illuminating the Bell Tower en route, and on the other hand, lining the delay towers in the interior, to frame the apron of the stage. Over thirty FALCON 6000 CMY searchlights illuminated from the pit beneath the stage the roof membrane of Berlin's Olympic Stadium. At first, they were used as washers to provide surface lighting. During the firework display, on the other hand, they were employed as spotlights. All in all, lighting designers Manfred "Ollie" Olma of Mo2 and Timm Lützen of Team Mario Barth succeeded in creating a stimulating, upbeat atmosphere that lent the evening special charm. A&O Technology provided full-service support for the searchlights including logistics, personnel, cables and peripherals.

"Even in lighting conditions that pose difficulties for searchlights, such as daylight and sunset, the FALCON BEAM 70000 really stood out in the TV images," commented Ollie Olma, looking back on the show. "In fact, all the FALCON luminaires delivered flawless performances and the well-trained, experienced and highly motivated technical crew also did a fine job."
