The third day at the WCG 2008 Grand Final
The third day of WCG 2008 Grand Final saw some stunning action (with yesterday's interview partner Nikolay Frontov winning "Need for Speed") and a packed hall all day long. There was a capacity crowd in front of the main stage just about every minute of the day, the rest of the hall was bustling with action, and the 18+ area actually had to stop admitting visitors for a while as it was overcrowded.
The WCG partners' booths also saw exciting action throughout the day:
At the Xbox stand, the PES (Pro Evolution Soccer) 2009 and FIFA 09 consoles attracted players and viewers alike, and the 18+ "dome" was almost bursting at the seams. In it, big hits such as "Tomb Raider", "Need for Speed Undercover" or "Quantum of Solace" and many more, kept heart beats high and adrenalin pumping. On the Xbox stage a variety of e-musicians gave it their all at "Rock Band" and entertained a large crowd that nodded their heads and tapped their feet to classic rock tunes.
Apart from exciting competitions involving golf, car racing, football, hockey or fencing, the Samsung Sports World stand also presented two champions from the world of (real) sports that showed off their skills and competitive spirit. Lars Schache (World Champion 2008) and his wife Anne Schache (Runner-up at the World Championships 2008) displayed their fencing talent and gave a fascinating insight into the world of real fencing to an awestruck crowd. Which one of them actually won the "battle of the sexes" is not known.
