Based on its comprehensive product portfolio for 40 and 100 Gigabit applications, u²t achieved a revenue growth of approximately 20%, the seventh consecutive year of growth. With this result u²t reconfirms its leading role as a supplier of receivers and modulators in the optical components market. Its latest, fully qualified CPRV series of coherent receivers contributed significantly to the company's revenues after securing a major market share with key customers. The new product line of GaAs-based modulators has also started to sample and is expected to contribute to revenues in 2012.
u²t extended its portfolio in the past year with several highly integrated and compact receivers for higher-order optical transmission formats such as DPSK, DQPSK and DP-QPSK. The most recent integrated coherent receiver family has been TELCORDIA qualified and is now in volume production. Other MSA-based components such as the MPRV series for very short reach (VSR) applications, have been ramped up over the past year. Key T&M equipment makers are using u²t's products for their leading edge performance and high bandwidth test equipment that operate up to 100 GHz.
In order to meet further expected growth, a production facility has been opened in Asia in collaboration with contract manufacturer, Fabrinet.
u²t will exhibit and demonstrate the new products at the Photonics West in San Francisco (booth #4601) in January and OFC 2012 in Los Angeles (#1739) in March 2012.
