SorTech AG, a developer and manufacturer of energy efficient high-performance chillers for small and midsize cooling requirements, announced today that it has been selected to be in the 2013 Global Cleantech 100, a prestigious industry award presented by Cleantech Group, a global market intelligence and consulting firm helping executives connect with innovation.
Since 2008 SorTech AG has been a cutting-edge technology leader in the area of energy efficient adsorption cooling aggregates which are also environmentally friendly. The innovative technology behind SorTech AG allows the company to play a major role in the global transition of energy generation.
SorTech AG is lead by CEO Norbert Philipp, a renewable energy industry expert with 20 years of international leadership expertise in this sector, while founding partner and shareholder Walter Mittelbach heads the R&D arm of the company as its Chief Technology Officer.
The smart and innovative use of adsorption chillers in combination with excess heat, solar-thermal systems and other clean energy heat sources has now earned the company a place among the top 100 global clean-tech companies. Nearly 6000 independent, for profit clean-tech companies from 60 countries around the world were nominated for a prestigious spot on the Global CleanTech 100 List. A 90- member expert panel evaluated each company according to their innovative power, their potential to become game-changing market leaders within the next 5 to 10 years, and the companies’ proven record of excellence in research and development.
The final 2013 Global CleanTech list is comprised of 100 companies from 18 countries across 18 industry sectors and is meant to be “a natural extension of [CleanTech’s] vision to help corporations and investors connect with innovation around the world,” according to Sheeraz Haji, CEO of Cleantech Group. “This list celebrates inspiring entrepreneurs, and serves as the industry standard on gauging where innovation is headed across key sectors.”
For SorTech the recognition falls in line with a key strategy that the manufacturer has implemented since 2013. The company’s energy-saving and environmentally friendly heating and cooling units combine smart design with easy expandability and superior performance data. Furthermore, SorTech is also developing mobile units, which will allow for energy efficient cooling for trucks, containers, ships, air and spacecraft as well as electric vehicles.
