SAP and Siemens Sign Global Reseller Agreement for i.s.h.med and i.c.m.health

Companies Address Growing Market of IT Solutions for Healthcare

Siemens Healthcare and SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) signed an agreement today whereby SAP will resell in selected target markets the Siemens Healthcare hospital information system (HIS) i.s.h.med - a leading health information system for the clinical setting that helps healthcare providers improve efficiencies, contributing to improved patient care and the management information system i.c.m.health. The reseller agreement, which expands the already existing relationship between Siemens and SAP in the healthcare IT market, enables healthcare providers to seek out comprehensive, efficiencybuilding software solutions all from one source.

Through the new reseller agreement, healthcare providers will have simplified access to innovative information systems that link administrative and controlling functions, such as billing, human resources, patient management and business intelligence (BI), with clinical processes, thereby helping customers profit from greater efficiencies and enhance enterprise customer and employee satisfaction by leveraging enterprise resource management software from SAP.

About the hospital information system i.s.h.med

i.s.h.med is a clinical information and workplace system that is integrated into the SAP for Healthcare solution portfolio. It is based on the marketleading ERP system by SAP that covers both administrative and logistic tasks. This system is expanded by i.s.h.med which supports medical as well as care functions in the clinical environment. i.s.h.med supports employees in the hospital during their individual work processes and provides a plurality of functionalities for planning, documentation, coordination, communication and evaluation. The security of investment is ensured by a flexible system configuration that facilitates quick reactions by hospital management to changing general conditions. The software is deployed in around 300 hospitals, 18 countries, and in 8 languages.

i.s.h.med is not available in the US and Japan.

About i.c.m.health

i.c.m.health is a Management Information System for hospitals that is integrated into SAP and i.s.h.med. It is based on the SAP Business Warehouse and is an integrated reporting system as a single point of truth. With i.c.m.health, hospital management is provided with differentiated information about services, costs, revenues as well as quality outcome. i.c.m.health offers a set of specific planning tools for an efficient controlling. Thus, undesirable developments can be early identified and measures for counteractions can be taken, if necessary. The system consists of several standard modules: medical controlling (mis), medical material controlling (mmc), case calculation (cal), revenue allocation (ra) and ORcontrolling (op). It is designed for the German market with the perspective to adopt further country specific requirements. Customizing capabilities and adaptations to user specific requirements are a natural feature.

Within the SAP Business Objects portfolio the ready to run reporting of i.c.m.health represents an excellent basis for Crystal Reports, XCelsius dashboard functionalities and Web Intelligence Adhoc Analyzing of Business Objects.
