Fleck obtained the masters degree of science in Physics and started his career at Bayer AG Leverkusen/Germany where he held several positions, among them finally the position of Senior Project Engineer. Afterwards he went to Bayer Diagnostics/United States for five years and became Head of Manufacturing Technology. On his return to Leverkusen, he was first employed in the Global Strategic Planning at Bayer Healthcare and then took up the position as Plant Manager Solids Packaging Pharmaceuticals. Finally, he was appointed as Vice President Technical Operations at General Electric Healthcare Life Science in London.
