Polymer specialist REHAU is manufacturing the rear bumpers for the new flagship of the PSA Group Citroen and Peugeot, the DS 5. The French car and utility vehicle manufacturer placed the order based on its excellent relationship with the globally active development partner and supplier, but primarily based on proven production knowhow and high standards of quality. The group appointed REHAU "Fournisseur Majeur" i.e. a preferred supplier.

The DS 5 is the current top model of the DS range. 4.50 metres long and a mix of van, combi coupé and high roof limousine - a true multitalent. REHAU supplies the bumpers for this model from its Feuchtwangen plant in Bavaria; the supports are from REHAU's Poix plant in France. The components are delivered, completely fabricated, including stainless steel exhaust trim, rear fog lamps, number plate light, parking sensors, rear-view camera and cable harness, direct to the car manufacturer's assembly line in Sochaux, France.
Those in charge of the project at REHAU, in the town of Rehau, Bavaria, can look back on a problem free start to series production. "This smooth start was due to close cooperation during the entire advance development phase as well as to personal relationships built on trust", say Harald Orlogi and Bernard Delles, project managers at REHAU. The German-French team proved itself an excellent combination of experienced French customer cultivation and German production knowhow, and this paid off.
