Die Produkte richten sich an Entwickler für Embedded-Systeme in den Bereichen Automotive, Industrie/Produktion, Medizintechnik, Netzwerktechnik sowie dem Rüstungssektor. Die neuen Versionen bieten erweiterten Support für Multi-Core-Prozessoren, einen Persistent Publish/Subscribe Service, eine umfangreichere Toolchain und Optimierungen im Sinne der Leistungsfähigkeit.

SMP für ARM Cortex-A9 Prozessoren & Freescale Power e500MC Cores: Das QNX Neutrino 6.5 RTOS unterstützt Symetric Multiprocessing (SMP) für Multi-Core Versionen der oben genannten Prozessoren. Außerdem bietet es durch SMP für Prozessoren mit bis zu 32 Kernen höchste Skalierbarkeit bei rechenintensiven Anwendungen.
Persistent Publish/Subscribe (PPS) Service: PPS erleichtert den Aufbau und den Betrieb komplexer Systeme mit vielen unterschiedlichen Hard- und Softwarekomponenten. Außerdem können mit PPS Systemkomponenten ohne Änderungen an der Benutzerschnittstelle (HMI) ersetzt oder erweitert werden.
Leistungsfähigeres Betriebssystem: QNX Neutrino RTOS 6.5 bietet stärkere Kernel-Leistung bei hoher Memory-Auslastung sowie auf vielen Plattformen bessere Durchsatzraten für File-System-Dienste.
