The Association of the German Internet Industry, eco, is enlarging its management team: Bernd Becker, Chairman of the Board of EuroCloud Deutschland_eco e.V. and, until now, Board Member for "Online Services" at eco, will now, together with Harald A. Summa, manage the operational activities of its subsidiary eco IT Service und Beratung GmbH. Becker's responsibilities on the board are taken over by Felix Höger, entrepreneur and Chairman of the Pironet NDH Group. Felix Höger is responsible in the Online Services Department for the topics Data Centres, Cloud Services and Outsourcing.
"I am looking forward now to being even more intensively involved in the successful development of the Internet industry", says Bernd Becker about his new job. "Bernd Becker brings a great deal of experience and expertise in the Internet sector and is very familiar with the work of eco. His support is a great asset for us," declares Harald A. Summa.
Cloud Computing, one of the most important IT topics, will in future be given even more emphasis in eco's association and committee work, says Prof. Michael Rotert, Chairman of the Board of eco e.V.: "With Felix Höger, we have gained a committed pioneer and entrepreneur for the task." Höger views his mission primarily as publicity work: "We have an opportunity in Germany, through a committed interchange with the industry and the collaboration of experts, to establish a highly efficient and, at the same time, a secure IT infrastructure. The graduate engineer was Board Member for Online Services at eco from 2003 to 2010. He has been active in the IT sector for over 30 years and has worked in various business units at Siemens, among others as Manager of the Siemens Competence Centre Microsoft and as ASP Manager for the target markets SME and LE. From 2008 to 2010, he was Business Manager for Web-Based Services/SaaS at Siemens AG. Bernd Becker is Chairman of the Board of EuroCloud Deutschland_eco e.V and Vice President of EuroCloud Europe.
Felix Höger
Group Chairman of Pironet NDH AG and Managing Director of Pironet NDH Datacenter GmbH, with responsibility for all Group activities in the field of ICT outsourcing. Felix Höger (37) founded one of the first private online providers in the Cologne/Bonn area in 1995, then merged this in 2000 with the software firm Pironet to form the Pironet NDH Group. With the Pironet NDH Datacenter, he today runs one of the leading mediumsized providers of ICT outsourcing and Software as a Service. He regards his most important task as the conversion of innovative, valueadding, new technologies such as Software as a Service and Cloud Computing into real business benefits.
