Flexible ITC costs instead of unnecessary old licenses
The rising costs for in-house operations were the main factor in the decision to outsource all company applications. One element responsible for driving costs was the constant updating of individual applications. "As a result of ongoing software changes and requirements, we accumulated a series of unused licenses which we still had to pay for," explained Ronald Weiss, Commercial Manager at Dietze Group. "By outsourcing our applications, we always have access to the latest software. The flexible pricing model bills us per user, application and month, allowing us to adapt our ITC costs to our actual requirements."
Only 48 hours
The system relocation needed to be done in a very short period of time: "Our production systems rely on the enterprise resource planning data. For this reason, it would have been necessary to stop our machines for a longer migration phase," said Hans Faisst, the responsible Works Manager at Dietze Group. Pironet NDH managed to convert the software landscape within a 48-hour period over the weekend. Since the conversion to the new SaaS solution, Dietze Group is now able to adapt its application requirements in real time.
"We only need to register new users - the rest is taken care of. It is also important that the system support all necessary languages," Faisst explained.
Secure location network
Pironet NDH uses a secure corporate network solution to supply all software services to seven Dietze Group locations in Switzerland, Germany, Slovakia, the US and China. Each production facility is still equipped with its own application server and measuring devices. These forward the inventory and consumption data from the production systems to the enterprise resource planning solution and archive system at the Pironet NDH data centre.
