Gleichmann Electronics presents outstanding color and contrast stable IPS display from LG Display: 22-inch TFT with 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles

(PresseBox) (Stutensee (Germany), ) Following recent announcements by many manufacturers of the discontinuation of their 20.1-inch and 23-inch displays, it would appear that 22-inch displays with 16:10 format are now establishing themselves as the new industry standard.

The new 22-inch industrial TFT LM220WE4-SLB1 from LG Display (distribution: Gleichmann Electronics) - with 1680 x 1050 pixels WSXGA resolution, a brightness of 300 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1000:1 - demonstrates outstanding color and contrast stability. Furthermore, the display features super-wide vertical and horizontal viewing angles of 178° and an excellent price/performance ratio.

The outstanding performance data is due to LG Display's sophisticated Super In-Plane Switching (S-IPS) technology. In recent years, among other things the translucence could also be increased by 15% and the power consumption significantly reduced with help of this technology.

Furthermore, thanks to the S-IPS technology all types of information can be rendered without any contrast loss and color shift worth mentioning. Color "washout" - noticeable with wider viewing angles -, which occurs with other technologies, is not present. Response times of less than 7 ms eliminate the appearance of blurring around fast moving images.

IPS technology also offers clear advantages when using a touchscreen. Because the LC molecules are arranged horizontally, only a minimum change of the molecular structure occurs when the top surface is touched. However, this does not lead to any short impairment whatsoever of the display's content.

Data sheets and samples of the LM220WE4-SLB1 are available now from Gleichmann Electronics. If requested, the display is also available as a complete kit including backlight inverter and cable or with customer-specific control.

Über Gleichmann & Co. Electronics GmbH

Founded in 1979, Gleichmann & Co. Electronics GmbH, in the same company group with MSC Vertriebs GmbH, has established itself as one of the leading pan-European distributors of electronic assemblies and components. One of the reasons for the high acceptance by customers and suppliers is the company’s early focus on comparatively few, highly sophisticated products such as microcontrollers, programmable logic devices, displays and customer specific power supplies. From this, the resulting in-depth technical know-how of our sales engineers and field application engineers today enables us, if required by the customer, even implementation of complete new designs right up to the finished product. With two of its own ASIC design centers, the Gleichmann research laboratory in Austria and one of the largest and most modern programming centers in Europe, Gleichmann Electronics takes a leading role in terms of service and customer support.
