Certification services successfully went operational at the new premises in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Network Agency. As an accredited certification service provider, exceet Secure Solutions thus fulfills the very strict demands the Federal Network Agency places on Trust Centers under the Signature Act. The security specialists have thus again demonstrated their competency in handling sensitive data.
exceet Secure Solutions has already been operating a Trust Center without interruption since 2001, subject to the stringent requirements of the German Signature Act and compliant with the European Signature Directive. The company is one of the very few providers in Germany to be accredited under both the Signature Act and the Signature Directive. The accreditation is thus recognized internationally as well, e.g. with respect to EU regulations. The qualified time stamps generated at the exceet Secure Solutions Trust Center can therefore also be relied on to secure business processes of internationally active companies.
The Trust Center operates at the business premises of exceet Card AG in Unterschleissheim near Munich. In addition to customary requirements such as 24/7 operation and security gateways, it also fulfills special operating conditions like proof of staff expertise and a high-security operating environment. Security is also guaranteed via supervision by the Federal Network Agency. This government authority verifies compliance with the required security criteria not only upon accreditation or at regular intervals, but on a continual basis and with rights of access at all times.
The accredited Trust Center of exceet Secure Solutions is able to generate qualified time stamps within the meaning of the Signature Act for all types of electronic data. exceet clients can thus substantiate, before a court and with legal certainty, the time at which a specific set of electronic data was available to them in a specific form. For evidence purposes, data which has been time-stamped by exceet is legally equivalent to paper-based documents.
In electronic data exchanges, qualified time stamps can be relied upon to provide legally secure proof of electronic delivery and thus offer an easy-to-use instrument for verifiably protecting data from undetected manipulation. The premises of exceet Card AG, which now also house the accredited Trust Center operated by exceet Secure Solutions, have satisfied the highest security standards for years. They are used e.g. to manufacture banking cards in accordance with VISA/MasterCard specifications, electronic health cards in line with the requirements of German health insurers and gematik specs, as well as other chip cards of a similarly sensitive nature. In addition to card production, exceet also assumes the entire range of upstream and downstream processes including e.g. the mailing of PIN numbers.
