The new Magento Connector facilitates a direct automated data exchange between Contentserv PIM and the Magento Shop in real time. Up-to-date product information is essential for online shops in particular. All data can be maintained efficiently via Contentserv PIM while the connector enables a smooth data import to the shop. This seamless shop integration will be exhibited to the public for the first time as a pilot project at the dmexco 2013, on September 18 and 19 in Cologne. The solution will be presented at the Contentserv stand (Hall 6.1, Stand C 059) at 11 am and 2 pm on Wednesday and at 11 am on Thursday.
The Magento Connector combines the know-how of the internet provider and e-commerce specialist NIDAG GmbH with the longstanding experience of Contentserv AG. The standard software producer for Enterprise Marketing Management solutions is an expert in the efficient structuring of marketing, information and media processes in product communication.
The Contentserv PIM system has been specifically developed to meet the challenges in Multi Channel Management. As central middleware, Contentserv constitutes the basic system that can be connected to electronic output channels, shop systems, print channels as well as many other channels and formats. All product information, media data and translations are thus centrally managed and exported.
Technical implementation via REST standard
The Magento Connector uses the REST standard (representational state transfer) to access Contentserv’s central web services for data exchange. These services function as central “multiple socket” and are available for any system connections. Consequently this joint solution meets the requirements of the current trend in web service architecture. Magento provides a callback URL for realtime updating, which is called up by Contentserv PIM. Thanks to the connector’s incremental method of operation it contributes to reducing the data volume during updates.
In the frame of their partnership the two companies are marketing the Magento Connector together and offer customers the integration of the solution from one single source.
