Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH commits to Contentserv’s Corporate Publishing

The staff newspapers and customer magazines of the Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH (DFS) – Aeronautical Information Service – will be created using an editorial system produced by the Enterprise Marketing Management Software manufacturer Contentserv.

(PresseBox) (Rohrbach, ) DFS (Aeronautical Information Service) is a modern service provider. Their customers include major national airlines as well as foreign and regional airlines, private pilots and the German Armed Forces. In addition to flight safety services, DFS compile specialist statistics and air traffic publications; they provide the latest air traffic information and train air traffic control-lers at their Air Navigation Services Academy.

Currently DFS publishes a staff newspaper every two months which is issued in all branch offices. In several offices an additional local newspaper is published. Until now, this had involved a long and tedious process with many unnecessary and redundant steps accompanied with time intensive approval and correction processes. With Contentserv’s editorial system, DFS’s company communication has been given a tool which allows the seamless creation of the company-wide newspaper. A central web-based system will take over the production and management. In future the newspapers will be issued in five different local editions, complete with covers and inlays. The biannual DFS customer magazine and other publications will also be created using Contentserv’s editorial system.

The aim of the new system is to support the complete creation process with the sharing and provision of all required digital data, particularly image data. The system simplifies and facili-tates the cooperation between the individual parties involved. The approval processes are supported by workflows. In addition to the company’s communication department (editors, graphic designers), photographers, a printing house and internal content providers are included in the workflow.

For DFS this means better control over the creation process of print material by means of system workflows and a clear division of roles and rights. This in turn facilitates production planning control and flexibility, as well as the direct integration of all people involved in these processes. Process harmonization will lead to improved quality. Users can make changes to content easily via web browser without any specialized knowledge on layout design programs. They also have access to graphical material. The complete solution thus ensures enhanced process security, greater efficiency and improved quality.
