CELUM, the specialist for Digital Asset Management (DAM), is expanding the range of services for its DAM solution of the same name with the new release. At the same time, the user experience is being optimized. The new features include, for example, a PowerPoint® slide manager, multiple user interface branding capabilities and a download format configurator. In addition, Release 5.12 offers full support for audio formats.
CELUM 5.12 offers the possibility of designing the login page, the dashboard and the workspace in the respective company-own corporate design for internal and external users. Different interface profiles are managed with a standard design, which can be customized for the different user groups. To so, the user-friendly Configuration Management Application (CMA) by CELUM is provided.
The new slide manager for office.connect and PowerPoint® directly inserts slides from one or several presentations into the current presentation. Multiple slides from different presentations can be simultaneously selected and inserted into the presentation with a click. Thanks to the new update function, the user has an effective overview of all changes made to the edited presentation. Access to the released presentations may be restricted.
The IPTC/XMP standard offers a range of metadata attributes for the professional labeling of images.
CELUM 5.12 automatically stores IPTC/XMP field values of the digital file while uploading onto the CELUM informational fields. That way, different mapping sets can be easily configured for IPTC/XMP fields and categorized for the CELUM asset types. In doing so, assets cannot only be searched for via the general information fields but also through the values of the IPTC/XMP mapping in the system.
Moreover, an administrator can add, edit and delete his own formats for the asset download and make these available to the user. Each format can be provided with specific parameters such as, for example, size, codecs, file name etc. CELUM redesigned the Download Format Configurator for this, to offer an optimal overview of all available formats. The configurator also includes an import/export function. Furthermore, the source-format extensions can be selected via the extension filter.
Also new in CELUM 5.12: the full support of audio formats. During the upload process, the DAM solution produces a preview and links it to the asset. In addition, CELUM extract the metadata tags and displays these. CELUM 5.12 supports numerous metadata containers (ID3v2, RIFF, BSI, etc.) in doing so and adopts technical as well as content-specific metadata.
