BASF Coatings' strengths in great demand
COATINGS PARTNER customer magazine has a brand new look
Partnerships around the globe
For instance, BASF Shanghai Coatings has supplied OEM coatings to First Automobile Group Corporation (FAW), one of China's biggest automakers, since 2000. In Germany, BASF Coatings helped build a new coating facility at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kassel. In the United States and Mexico, BASF Coatings supported General Motors in designing its new production processes. And in Russia, BASF Coatings is the first global coatings producer to have its own plant there, allowing it to supply the local automotive industry on the spot.
Sustainable construction
BASF's response to the demand to reduce CO2 and cut energy is illustrated by two examples from Germany and Great Britain. In Düsseldorf, an entire housing block was "energetically renovated" with products from RELIUS, BASF Coatings' European architectural coatings brand. In Great Britain, the University of Nottingham and BASF have developed a low-energy house that is both energy-efficient and affordable. For the BASF Energy House, innovative BASF coil coatings were used for the facade panels and the roof. RELIUS provided a water-resistant colored plaster for lasting protection and an attractive facade appearance.
Convincing with colors
Color speaks volumes - especially when it comes to the way people buy cars. BASF Coatings has inaugurated a new Color Design Studio in Münster dedicated to the special significance of color. The new issue of COATINGSPARTNER presents the work of the three-member design team - and also shares this year's color trend forecast for Europe. In addition, there are lots of other stories from the company's whole range of business areas. They include features on the 120-year success story of BASF Coatings' Glasurit brand - today a world-renowned name in automotive refinishing paints, the renovation of the São Paulo Museum of Art with a special paint by Suvinil®, as well as the future prospects for the industrial coatings business in the Far East. The magazine targets customers, business partners and the interested public. Copies in German and English can be ordered or downloaded at www.basf-coatings.com.
