Entering the High Performance CPU Class "SPEED7"

(PresseBox) Herzogenaurach, 10.04.2009, By means of the new SPEED7-CPU 314SE VIPA GmbH Herzogenaurach offers a reasonable priced entry to the SPEED7 technology. This compact PLC is available for only 498,00€.

Just as all SPEED7 CPUs, the 314SE based on the PLC 7001 can be programmed with STEP7 by Siemens. Concerning the instruction set, there are two options offered. This programmable logic controller has been designed for time critical applications but it also meets the rising requirements of continuously increasing memory capacities. The memory can be expanded up to 512KByte - this is the big advantage of a PLC based on SPEED7.

In order to expand memory you simply need to insert a Memory Configuration Card (MCC) into the card slot. Thus, the number of required types of CPUs that the user has to hold on stock has been decreased to a minimum.

This CPU already contains an RJ45 Ethernet-Interface for PG/OP communication as a standard feature - additionally available are a PtP interface for serial protocols and a Profibus DP slave.

Thanks to the high performance of this CPU - up to 30 times faster than customary controllers - the SPEED7 CPU 314SE is predestined for installations with high puls frequencies. This PLC is pin-compatible to Siemens controllers which allows a simple combination of both systems.

Especially the price of only 498,00€ makes the CPU 314SE the ideal device to enter the High-Performance CPU Class "SPEED7".
