The product range of VAD GmbH has been extended by an interesting new development

multi-purpose receiver unit UEB400

(PresseBox) Dresden, 17.10.2008, The multi-purpose receiver unit UEB400 is a compact assembly for the reception of DAB(+) and DMB. It consists of a main board, which incorporates a highly integrated plug-in receiver module. The unit provides the complete data stream transmitted by the multiplex via the full-capacity interfaces RDI and SFCO. The UEB400 is thereby ready for future enhancements of the DAB(+)/DMB-standard.

The functionality of the UEB400 is tailored to specific applications by means of firmware modifications and stackable add-on boards. A first board, which provides a high speed USB interface, a GPS receiver, an interface for a micro SD memory card and the charging circuit for NiMh rechargeable batteries, will be available soon.
It will allow the design of compact monitoring receivers for mobile applications. Furthermore it is planned to extend the UEB400 with a powerful add-on board for digital signal processing.

Application of the UEB 400 is straightforward due to a number of interfaces and the included power supply with a wide range of input voltages (4.5 V...15.0 V DC). The unit is characterized by low power consumption (< 1,0 Watt) and compact size (160 mm x 100 mm x 12 mm).

The receiver unit is intended for customer-specific DAB(+)/DMB receivers, as a high-quality receiver unit for CATV head end systems and relay receivers, and as a reference receiver for coverage measurements and transmitter monitoring.

The UEB400 is manufactured and distributed by VAD GmbH; customer specific adaptations of the hard- and firmware can be rapidly developed on demand.
