Content Management “powered by SAP NetWeaver”

(PresseBox) Köln, 22.06.2006, SAP AG has certified the Content Management solution pirobase CMS from Pironet NDH for SAP NetWeaver. After extensive tests SAP has confirmed with the seal of approval “powered by SAP NetWeaver” that pirobase CMS is fully integrated into the SAP application and integration platform. SAP customers can manage their unstructured content in the SAP NetWeaver portal and use the existing SAP infrastructure without any further investment. The solution, like the Business Package for SAP NetWeaver which is also certified, is available with immediate effect. This package contains a solution option for rapid integration of pirobase CMS into the SAP platform.

Pironet NDH is one of the first independent software vendors for Content Management Systems to offer a solution which is integrated into SAP NetWeaver both completely and in native mode. Like Business applications are available in a service-oriented architecture (SOA) as integrated services, the CMS system provides services for administering unstructured content such as documents or picture formats. By utilising the SAP NetWeaver technology and infrastructure pirobase CMS enables this content to be incorporated in business processes, in a similar way to transactions in an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP).

Administrators can control all the roles, groups and users of pirobase CMS via the central SAP user administration. The solution supports the SAP NetWeaver Application Server which is based on J2EE and, thanks to simple installation using standard administration tools, can be integrated into SAP NetWeaver. Customers who have already invested in the SAP platform have a complete runtime environment for pirobase CMS. All investments made in infrastructure, availability, monitoring and staff know-how can thus be used for operating pirobase CMS.

Pironet NDH also offers SAP customers a certified Business Package. With this package Pironet NDH incorporates comprehensive Content Management functionalities in the portal and enables users to maintain their content simply and directly from their familiar portal environment. The offering covers the integration of certified standard iViews, an author interface, a navigation connector for uniform navigation of the CMS and portal, and a Repository Manager for uniform access to content via SAP Knowledge Management.
