All the more so if the driver cannot see where vehicle starts and ends, as is often the case with today's increasingly curved bodywork designs. This is where WAECO's new MagicWatch MWE910 parking aid offers a safe and secure alternative. The system incorporates tiny ultrasonic sensors – the smallest currently available, claims the manufacturer. Attached to the vehicle's front and rear, the sensors give a perfect solution from both a technical and aesthetic point of view. When the vehicle comes close to a collision, the driver is warned in good time by an audible signal. In that way, the high-end system effectively prevents costly scrapes and dents to the bodywork, or worse.
The rear sensors are activated when reverse gear is engaged. The front system comes on with the ignition. Its front sensors switch off automatically via the speed signal when they are not longer needed for manoeuvring. Additionally, the WAECO MagicWatch MWE910 parking aid features a self-diagnosis function with error indication as well as a Parameter Programming System (PPS). These technical extras can be used to set various system parameters such as sensor response sensitivity or visual rejection of mounted parts (e.g. tow-bars).
The MWE910 system is especially suitable for difficult mounting situations. The delivery kit includes special sensor mounts that adapt to the shape of the bumper. Naturally, the sensors can be painted to match the vehicle colour. The MagicWatch parking aid can be used in all vehicles with 12 – 30 V DC supply. Detailed, easily comprehendible mounting and operating instructions help facilitate the installation of this e-approved system.
