WINAICO modules pass TÜV Rheinland’s PID test
Reduction in performance of WINAICO modules of less than 1 %

TÜV Rheinland has tested WINAICO's WSP photovoltaic module series of Win Win Precision Technology Co., Ltd. from Taiwan with excellent result.
Conventional solar systems have inherently differences in voltage between the system framework and solar cells. The differences can lead to unwanted leakage currents which successively corrode the polymers of the foils within the laminate during the life cycle. This can reduce the performance of the cells and cause a loss of yield. This effect is called potential-induced degradation (PID).
During the test of TÜV Rheinland, a negative voltage of 1,000 Volt is applied to the modules at room temperature (25 degree Celsius) over a period of 7 days (168 hours).
For an exact comparison the module front is covered and grounded with aluminium foil or a constant water film. If a module's performance declines by less than 5 % it is deemed to have passed the test. The WINAICO solar modules far exceeded this and passed the test brilliantly with a reduction in performance of less than 1 %; evidence for the premium quality and reliability of WINAICO modules.
"The use of high-quality encapsulation materials and state-of-the-art plant technology at WINAICO ensures a consistent production of PID-resistant modules. In WINAICO's own in-house test laboratory components and modules are continuously tested beyond TÜV standard to assure permanent high quality.
In addition to WINAICO's internal quality control and testing, WINAICO modules exceed independent tests such as the FokusTest "Ammonia Resistance" of DLG and the salt spray corrosion test.
