Dual Electronics picks u-blox to power new GPS Navigation Cradle for iPod touch
Dual's GPS Cradle (XGPS300), equipped with a u-blox GPS receiver, turns any iPod touch into a portable, all-inclusive GPS navigation device for use in and out of a car
The Cradle is a unique GPS solution in that it is completely portable and universal," said Greg Lukins, VP, Business Development at Dual. "The highsensitivity ublox GPS chip built into the Cradle works with any GPSaware app, giving iPod touch owners the freedom to use their devices for incar navigation as well as with apps for hiking, biking, geocaching, marine navigation, golfing, social networking, and a lot more," added Lukins.
"As a leading provider of GPS technology to the consumer markets, we are extremely proud to have been chosen by Dual Electronics to supply our GPS chips for their XGPS300 model," said Samuel Ji, Country Manager, ublox Korea. "Our GPS chip meets Dual's requirements for fast acquisition speed with reliable tracking performance and low power consumption," added Ji.
The NavAtlas Navigation app works exclusively with the GPS Cradle. It features the latest US and Canada maps from Navteq which are builtin, so there is no need for a Wi-Fi connection.
